How do I book a course?
Choose the course you would like to attend. Press the 'BOOK' button where you will then be prompted to fill in an online booking form.
You will need to fill in your personal details, click the submit button and you will then receive a confirmation telephone call to make payment.
Full payment must be made to reserve your place on the course.
What if I want to take a group of people on a course?
Choose the course you would like the group to attend. Press the 'BOOK' button where you will then be prompted to fill in an online booking form. At this stage the form will indicate how many places are available. If there are not enough places remaining and you can not see another available date then please call The Academy on 0121 331 2009, where we will try and help you.
What are guest artists?
Education at its best. Guest artists are either members of national art teams, or internationally renown platform artists. Intense education, incredible inspiration and highly motivational courses. These courses are The Academy's most sought after tickets.
How many places are available on my course?
When you fill in the online booking form, it will show the number of places left.
How do I know if this is the course for me?
If you search the courses you can click on the course title. This will bring up more details about the course so that you can decide if the course you have chosen is right for you.
Do I have to be a qualified hairdresser or beautician to attend a course?
All hair courses are suitable for qualified hairdressers only. Beauty courses are suitable for the beginner however for certain courses you will need to have completed a specific course. Please check pre-requisites on the course details.
PAYMENT
How do I pay for a course?
When you submit the online booking form you will receive a confirmation phone call from The Academy. Payment will be taken at this stage over the telephone. Payment will be taken by credit card.
What if I don't receive a confirmation telephone call?
In the case that you are not contacted when you submit your online booking form please call The Academy to check that we have received the information. You will be able to book your course at this point if you would prefer.
ON THE DAY
What do I need to take on the course with me?
Once full payment has been taken and your place has been confirmed a letter of confirmation will be sent to you via email. This will include all the details of what you need to bring, what the day involves etc. You can also find this information under course details.
How do I get to The Academy?

Is there car parking available?
There is ample car parking at The Academy in the main cash and carry car park.
Is public transport available locally?
There are a couple of train stations located about mile away from The Academy, see the map to see where these are.
You can take the Bus from Birmingham City Centre, catch the numbers 107, 33 and 997.
Are there any local hotels available to stay at?
We recommend hotels that are fairly close to The Academy -

What do I do when I get to The Academy?
When you arrive at The Academy you need to go through the main entrance where you will need to sign in. A member of staff will be available to show you to The Academy.
Is lunch provided?
If you are attending a full day course lunch will be provided for you. If you are attending a half-day course lunch is not provided. If you have any special requirements please contact The Academy on 0121 331 2009.
CANCELLATION
What do I do if I need to cancel a course?
You need to call The Academy on 0121 331 2009 as soon as you know that you are unable to attend. In terms of payment cancellations within 1 week of the course commencement date will not be eligible for refunds. Cancellations up to 1 week before the course commencement date will receive a 50% refund of the total amount paid. Failure to attend a course without notification will result in Aston & Fincher retaining the total amount paid.
