NXT Balayage Step-by-Step

STEP 1
Section hair in to 4, leaving a small face frame section at the front.

STEP 2
Working through the sections, apply root colour 5-35 with 3% to the long regrowth area. Use a feathering technique with the brush to blend, this will provide the base root shade.

STEP 3
Using NXT Pro-Tech Bleach with 3% (or NXT Meche Extra Lightening Cream), work in diagonal sections using a chunky weave. Tease the hair and freehand paint the surface of the darker sections. Take care not to overlap on to the ends that are already pre-lightened. Isolate the sections with NXT Foam Wraps.

STEP 4
Alternate the application of 5-35 with 3% and Pro-Tech Bleach with 3% through the full head and isolate with foam wraps.

STEP 5
Create the face frame using micro slices with Pro-Tech Bleach +3% (or Meche Extra Lightening Cream) with foil. Process for 40 minutes then wash with iQ Volume Shampoo and Conditioner.

STEP 6
Towel dry the hair then tone the full head with 8-13 + 3%. Process for 20 minutes then emulsify to remove the colour and wash using iQ Volume Shampoo and
Conditioner.

STEP 7
Apply iQ Blow Dry Cream, distributing well throughout the hair.

STEP 8
Blow dry using a radial heat retaining brush to straighten and smooth, creating a small root lift.

STEP 9
To finish, apply iQ Hairspray.
