Corporate Social Responsibility

One of Aston & Fincher’s core values is to protect our amazing hair and beauty industry. Operationally Aston & Fincher guards against cheap sub-standard, counterfeit products entering the supply chain, using a variety of security techniques. We defend our industry from the threats that face us all from the high-street and online suppliers who seek to entice away the industry revenue stream. Aston & Fincher looks to preserve the professional industry, supporting the movement for better regulation and national registration, to ensure that all of our successful futures are safeguarded. Aston & Fincher takes an active role in supporting initiatives that promote health and safety practices such as the Patch Test Party.

The fight against plastic

In an industry that relies heavily on plastic packaging, Aston & Fincher does what it can to help reduce the impact on the environment, we re-use boxes and packaging for deliveries and our carrier bags are biodegradable.

A sustainable future

Solar Panels – Aston & Fincher has installed solar panels at the Birmingham Store/Head Office, these panels supply the building with up to 50kW of electricity per day. Solar energy is helping Aston & Fincher reduce its carbon footprint, whilst harnessing the power of the sun, it doesn’t produce any greenhouse gasses as a bi-product of its use.

Our Staff

When joining Aston & Fincher, new employees are immersed into the Aston & Fincher culture. There is an induction programme in place for both store and field-based employees. The programme is designed to educate on Aston & Fincher, our working practices as well as industry and brand knowledge. Our training programme is ongoing and Aston & Fincher strives to create a working environment that encourages personal and professional development.

Industry Support

As a company Aston & Fincher has sponsored a variety of industry events and awards such as Creative Head’s Most Wanted, Modern Barber’s MOBAA’s, NHF Britain’s Best, NHF Regional and National Competitions and Awards and many more over the years. It is an investment for Aston & Fincher to be involved in pushing the industry forward creatively and professionally.

Education

Aston & Fincher has a full annual programme of education and courses to provide product knowledge, skills training and inspiration. For those already operating within the hair and beauty arena, but also to attract new people. We regard this as a fundamental requirement to support the successful introduction of brands, products and techniques.

New Initiatives – Community Projects

Patch Test Party

Aston & Fincher is working with Casey Coleman, founder of CHAIR salons in Cardiff to support his #PatchTestParty initiative. The aim is to encourage salons and clients to get skin tested before treatments. Most salons have experienced a customer dropping by last minute ‘needing’ their colour done, by insisting on a patch test the salon is protecting both the customer and themselves. The idea of the #PatchTestParty is to make it fun and also engaging which will generate business and attract new customers!

Standing Ovation

Aston & Fincher has been working with a young company that’s doing some amazing work locally in the community with children and young people – Standing Ovation. The company’s CEO, Anthony is embarking on a new project; setting up a community salon where teens will be introduced to hairdressing, barbering and creative skills – which among other things will include arts, DJing, computer programming, all to equip them with employability skills that will aid them in the workplace. The idea is to give them an introduction to the workplace and experience such as customer service, appointment booking and junior salon skills. Some of these children may otherwise struggle to gain employment for one reason or another, so it’s all about providing opportunity for the future. Aston & Fincher has donated salon furniture to help get the salon up and running.
