Whether you’re refreshing grown-out highlights or completely transforming your tone, this step-by-step guide will walk you through how to achieve the ultimate blonde look using NXT professional colour and care products. From precise sectioning to expert product mixing and application, follow along to create a radiant, multi-dimensional finish that’s as bright and confident as the season ahead. 

Natural Base: 6-0

Previous Colour: Combination of grown out highlights and balayage on ends.

Step 1

• A 1-inch section is taken around the front hairline and separated out.
• The back is divided into 2 sections from the crown to the nape of the neck.
• A top section is then taken across the top, roughly 1 inch either side of the parting.
• The remaining hair is then sectioned from the crown to the back of the ears.

Step 2

• A lightener is mixed using 100g NXT Pro Tech Bleach + 200g of NXT 20 Vol 6%.
• A contrast colour is mixed using 50g 9-01 Demi + 50g 7-1 Demi + 200g 5 Vol 1.5%.

Step 3

• Starting at the nape of the neck, a medium panel of around 1/2 inch of hair is taken and coloured using NXT Long Meche and Demi formula.
• The next section is taken, and a chunky weave pattern is used and coloured with lightener.
• A piece of cotton wool is placed underneath to stop any lightener coming into contact with the hair below it, all lightener is applied thickly to ends and blended upwards to create a balayage.
• This process is repeated on both back sections towards crown.

Step 4

• For the sides, hair is sectioned diagonally from the side hairline, working towards the top repeating the pattern used in Step 3 of 1 woven lightener to 1 solid panel of Demi.

Step 5

• For the face frame section, finely woven baby lights are added using short NXT Meche and Lightener NXT Pro Tech Bleach 50g + 100g NXT 10 Vol 3%.
• Everything is processed for 40 minutes checking regularly to coincide with manufacturer’s instructions.
• All products removed using iQ Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner, iQ 10-in-1 applied to damp hair before it is blow dried to even out porosity.

Step 6

• To apply a root tap, NXT Demi 9-02 30g + NXT Demi 9-0 30g + 120g 5 Vol 1.5% is mixed and applied to top and face frame sections only, dragging colour down slightly to blend.
• The toner is mixed using NXT Toner 10-21 50g + 10-02 50g + 200g NXT 5 Vol 1.5%.
• This is applied quickly throughout the remaining hair covering mid-lengths and ends, this colour is blended upwards to create a flow of colour through the hair.
• After completing the final step everything was processed together for up to 20 minutes checking regularly.
